Altaf Mazid Youth Documentary Fellowship 2024-25 Announcement

We are happy to announce Kalpajyoti Bhuyan as the recipient of the Altaf Mazid Youth Documentary Fellowship for the year 2024-25 for his proposed project titled ‘Dreams of a Forgotten Past.’ The proposed documentary intends to explore one of the pivotal aspects of Guwahati’s cinema heritage, thereby, celebrating its key influence in the region’s cinema movement.

About the Fellowship

The Altaf Mazid Youth Documentary Fellowship is envisioned to honour the legacy of Late Altaf Mazid, a renowned documentary filmmaker whose work continue to inspire countless young filmmakers. The fellowship attempts to provide emerging filmmakers with the resources, mentorship, and platform they need to create impactful documentaries that highlight important social, cultural, and environmental issues. It recognizes emerging talents in documentary filmmaking and supports their efforts to bring compelling stories of Northeast India to life through the lens of a camera.

Fellowship Benefits

As the winner of the Altaf Mazid Youth Documentary Fellowship, the winner will receive:

• A grant upto INR 1 Lakh to support the production of the documentary
